The cornflower belong to the Asteraceae family.
They grow in dry, rocky places, in ditches and near grain. Only the blue flowers are used in therapeutically. The flowers are arranged in a bunch, surrounded by green elements, covered in brown teeth.
The lateral flowers are lager, funnel-shaped with 5 teeth. The central flowers are smaller.
Cornflowers contain: polyenes (centaur X), polyenes (centaur Y); bitter substances: centaurina (cnicina); glycoside: cicorina, mucilage, tannin, anthocyan glycoside: cyanine, anthocyanidins, potassium and manganese salts.
Actions: anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, bacteriostatic, soothing, calming, tonic.
How to use:
– against dark circles and bags under the eyes – applied as compressions twice a day for an hour.
– wrinkles – applied as compressions twice a day for an hour.
– irritated or swollen complexion – applied as compressions twice a day for an hour.
Ingredients/100ml: demineralized water, propylene glycol, cornflowers (Centaurea cyanus) -13 g, sodium benzoate, potassium sorbate.
Avoid contact with the eyes, other mucous tissues, irritated or wounded skin.
